The doctrine of sonship needs to be restored in the Church. As believers, we are sons and joint heirs with Christ. And as heirs, we are given something simply for being a son or daughter. Just as a son or daughter inherits property and/or possessions from a parent, we also have an inheritance from our Heavenly Father. However, inheritance, only comes through sonship (or daughtership, if you will).
